The son of teachers, Marc grew up in Raleigh and graduated from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill with degrees in Economics and Chinese. He has served four years on the Belmont City Council. During his time on the Council, he has championed fiscally responsible budgets that lower taxes and cut unnecessary spending. He has also led an effort to rework the City's land development process to ensure that new development is mitigating its impact to traffic, the environment, and the nearby neighborhoods, so that only those projects that will make the community a better place are approved.
His professional background includes being the senior claims data analyst in the Actuarial unit for a national insurance carrier. He owns and operates a Marco's Pizza franchise with his wife, Cherry, with locations in both Gastonia and Charlotte and about 50 employees. He also has two sons, Winston and William.
Marc remains an active member in a number of local civic organizations, including serving as the treasurer of the Gaston County Republican Party and serving on the Belmont Main Street Advisory Board, the board of the Downtown Belmont Development Association, and the Belmont Tourism Development Authority. He and his family are members of Queen of the Apostles parish in Belmont.
A common-sense conservative with a deep understanding of the business and political worlds, Marc is your advocate on the Gaston County Commission and will work hard to ensure that Gaston County is a great place to live and raise a family.
